Before Harding
Redding returned to Harding from Dallas, where he was the director of tennis at the Northwood Club beginning in 1989. He was responsible for teaching private and group lessons, creating programming, expanding member activity, and managing the tennis staff and tennis shop inventory. While in Dallas, Redding attained the Elite Professional level of certification with the United State Professional Tennis Association.

Redding also served as the assistant tennis professional at Northwood Club from 1984-89 and was a graduate assistant at Southern Methodist University from 1983-85.

Playing Career
Redding was a member of the Harding tennis team from 1979-83. He earned multiple all-district and all-conference honors, was two-time NAIA All-Academic, and earned the 1983 NAIA Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship. Redding was inducted into the Harding Athletics Hall of Fame in 1990.

Education
Redding graduated magna cum laude from Harding in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education.

Family
Redding is married to the former Kay Wilson of San Diego, California, a 1981 Harding graduate. The couple have three daughters: Regan, Madison and Cameron.
