AT HARDING
Nathan Looney is in his 18th year back at Harding, having returned to the university in 2008. He serves as the primary media contact for the women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball, and softball teams.
In addition to his media relations duties, Looney manages Harding’s athletic photography, produces highlight packages, and serves as the athletic department's graphic designer. In 2019, he was honored with Harding University's Distinguished Service Award.
Looney began his sports information career as a student worker in the Harding sports information office, where he worked for four-and-a-half years primarily with the football and basketball teams. During this time, he also served three seasons as the official statistician for the Arkansas RimRockers professional basketball team in Little Rock.
BEFORE HARDING
Following his graduation in 2006, Looney spent a year as an intern under Antoine Bell at the University of Alabama-Huntsville (UAH). There, he served as the contact for soccer, women’s basketball, tennis, and softball. He returned to Searcy the following year to join the Harding staff full-time.
EDUCATION
A native of Springfield, Missouri, Looney is a 2006 graduate of Harding University, where he earned a degree in interactive media.
FAMILY
Looney is married to the former Laura Ashley, also a Harding graduate. The couple has a son, Bennett.
