Dr. Stephen Burks is entering his 10th year as Harding's faculty athletics representative in 2018-19.
Burks is the chairman of the kinesiology department and has been an associate professor of health and kinesiology since 1997.
From 1997-2004, Burks served as Harding's assistant women's basketball coach. He spent the next six years as Harding's wellness program coordinator.
From 1995-97, Burks taught and coached at Jackson Christian School in Jackson, Tennessee.
Burks earned his B.A. at Harding in 1994 in kinesiology, his M.Ed. in education in 1995, and his Ed.D. in higher education from UALR in 2007.
Burks is married to the former Jeanne Isom of Searcy, Arkansas. The couple has three children--Madison, Kaley, and Caden.
