Odie Guzman

Odie Guzman is in his fourth season as head men's soccer coach in 2015.

Team Highlights by Season:
2014

Harding set a school record for conference wins in a season (4) ... three Harding players earned All-MIAA and All-Central Region honors ... 11 Harding players earned Academic All-MIAA, six Bisons were named Academic All-District and Gehrig Haberstock and Jacob Stevens received Academic All-America honors.

2013
Set a school record for goals in conference games (18) ... scored 32 goals, the most by a Bison team since 2008 ... allowed only 1.88 goals per game, the third-lowest total in program history ... had five players earn All-MIAA honors and four earned All-Central Region ... 10 players earned Academic All-MIAA, four earned Academic All-District, and Gehrig Haberstock and Jacob Stevens became Harding soccer's first Academic All-Americans.

2012
In Guzman's first season, Harding's Rhon Royer earned second-team All-MIAA honors and was one of three Bisons to earn All-Central Region ... nine Bisons earned Academic All-MIAA and five were Academic All-District.

Coaching Experience
Guzman, a native of Lewisville, Texas, spent two seasons as an assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s teams at Lubbock Christian University in Texas. In 2011, he helped direct Lubbock Christian’s men to a 14-4-3 record and a berth in the championship game of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.

Education/Playing Career
Guzman, a 2009 Harding graduate with a B.A. in business management, was a two-year captain with the Bisons from 2005-09 and twice earned All-Gulf South Conference honors as a center midfielder.

Guzman currently holds a “C” coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation.

Prior to playing for Harding, Guzman played club soccer for Dallas Texans ’87, helping lead the team to state and regional championships and a third-place finish at the U.S. Youth National Tournament. In 2000, Guzman was selected for the North Texas ’86 Men’s Olympic Development Program pool. The following year, Guzman made the ODP team and participated in the regional camp.

Guzman is married to the former April Augsberger of Benson, Illinois.
