Lady Bison Basketball Stampedes Past Central Baptist

SEARCY – Junior transfer Bailey St. Clair had 20 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Lady Bisons past Central Baptist Monday night, 88-46. It was the first win for the Lady Bisons as they move to 1-4 on the season.

St. Clair was 4-of-8 from the field and 11-of-13 from free-throw line to lead all scoring. She grabbed 10 offensive and seven defensive rebounds for Harding for the most rebounds in a game since senior Stacey Owens had 17 in 2007 against West Alabama. It was St. Clair's first career double-double.

Four other Lady Bisons ended in double-figure scoring. Owens and sophomore guard Kallie Bartee each had 13 points. Junior forward Danielle Reiher added 12 and sophomore guard Sierra Rollins came off the bench to add 11.

The Lady Bisons started the game slow only hitting 11 shots in the first half. They pulled away late in the half and took a 40-26 lead into the locker room.

Harding came out of the break and immediately built on their lead going on a 6-0 run to increase their margin by 22 points. Late in the second half, Harding led by as much as 43 points for their largest lead of the season.

Britney Nealy led the Lady Mustangs with 15 points, hitting 8-of-11 from the free-throw line. Kayla Sandersfeld added 11 points for Central Baptist.

Harding had 58 rebounds in the game which tied for the third most in a game. The Lady Bisons had 22 assists, leading the way was Deshelle Isaac-Boyce who had five.

The Lady Bisons will have the rest of the week off for the Holiday break before hosting West Georgia on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House.
