Women's Basketball Takes On Central Baptist

SEARCY –The Harding women's basketball team makes their home debut Monday against Central Baptist at 5:30 p.m., after a four game road skid. Harding looks for their first win after a 0-4 start.  

COACHES: Harding is coached by Tim Kirby, who enters his fifth season at the helm of the Lady Bisons. Kirby has a 69-49 career record. Kirby took over the Lady Bison program before the 2005-06 season after serving 12 seasons as the Harding's men's basketball assistant.

Central Baptist is coached by Lyle Middleton.

THE LADY BISONS: Harding fell in two heartbreakers over the weekend by a combined seven points. The Lady Bisons fell to Lynn in overtime 71-68 on Friday and then fell 72-68 to West Florida on Saturday.  

Harding is led by junior transfer Bailey St. Clair who is averaging 17.5 points per game. St. Clair has the highest shooting percentage on the team at 58 percent, hitting 25-of-43 shots from the field.  Senior forward Stacey Owens led the Lady Bisons this past weekend with 38 points in the two contest to pull her average to 15.5 points per game.

Harding returns five players from the 2008-09 season. The Lady Bisons have eight new faces this year, seven of them are transfers. Six of the Harding newcomers have already made their debut for the Lady Bisons.

THE LADY MUSTANGS: Central Baptist is from Conway, Ark., and is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association. The Lady Mustangs have had a rough start to their season going 0-7 before defeating Hillsdale College this past Friday. The Lady Mustangs played again on Saturday but fell to Southwestern Christian to drop to 1-8 on the season.

SERIES:  Harding and Central Baptist have met seven times; the Lady Bisons have won all seven.
