Lady Bisons Streak Ends at Seven

FLORENCE, Ala. – The Harding women's basketball team fell 75-61 to North Alabama Monday night in their final non-conference game. The Lions snapped a Lady Bison seven game winning streak. Harding falls to 7-5 on the season.

After being tied 34-34 at halftime, the Lady Bisons tried to get some momentum going when senior Stacey Owens hit a three-pointer 30 seconds in the second half. Two quick layups by the Lions turned the table on the Lady Bisons. Harding never saw the lead again as North Alabama kept building on their lead.

Three Lady Bisons ended in double-figure scoring, leading the way was freshman Elizabeth Nagel who had a career high 16 points. Nagel was 5-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Danielle Reiher tied a career high with 12 points. Owens added 11 points for Harding.

Dana Jackson led all scoring and North Alabama with 22 points, hitting 4-of-8 from behind the three-point line. Niala Harris added 14 points and a team high five rebounds.

Harding committed 33 turnovers on the night. North Alabama scored 33 points off the Lady Bisons turnovers.

The Lady Bisons host Henderson State January 9th, at 5:30 p.m., to open Gulf South Conference play.
