COLUMBUS, Ga. - Playing its final non-conference tuneup before beginning Gulf South Conference play on Friday, Harding men's soccer fell 3-1 to Georgia Southwestern on Sunday.
Georgia Southwestern (1-7-0) picked up its first victory of the season by notching three second-half goals. The trio of goals came less than 11 minutes apart. Ross Sellers opened the scoring in the 69th minute. Michael Moses added a penalty kick goal in the 71st minute, and Taylor Jennings made it 3-0 in the 80th minute. It was the first goal of the season for each of the three players.
Harding (2-7-0) pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute as senior
Drew Nowlin scored his team-leading third goal of the season on a penalty kick.
Georgia Southwestern outshot Harding 13-12, but the Bisons had seven shots on goal to only five for the Hurricanes.
Harding will host Alabama-Huntsville on Friday at 5 p.m. to open conference play.
