Harding Men's Soccer Blanks Williams Baptist 7-0

SEARCY - Junior Connor Galloway and sophomore Phillip McCormick each scored two goals and had an assist to lead Harding to a 7-0 shutout of Williams Baptist on Tuesday in Searcy.

Galloway and McCormick alternated goals in the first half. McCormick scored first in the 11th minute on a feed from Drew Nowlin. Galloway then scored on a penalty kick in the 18th minute to make it 2-0. McCormick's second goal of the game and fifth of the season came in the 31st minute on a pass from Moses Rotich. The second for Galloway followed in the 35th minute on a putback off a rebound.

In the second half, Harding (3-9-0) received goals from Rhon Royer, Glen Stewart and Victor Moya.

Harding's seven goals were the most by a Bison team since defeating Rust 15-0 last season.

James Thurmond and Andrew Flesher each played a half in goal for the Bisons, and each needed to make just one save. Harding outshot Williams Baptist 23-4.

Williams Baptist (1-4-0) remained winless in seven meetings with Harding. The teams last met in 2003.

The Bisons are back in action Friday, Oct. 2 against future Gulf South Conference foe Lambuth. Kickoff in Jackson, Tenn., is a 3 p.m.
