SEARCY – The Harding men's soccer team had its season come to an end Tuesday night with a 5-1 loss to Christian Brothers at First Security Stadium.
Harding needed a victory over Christian Brothers for its season to continue this weekend at the Gulf South Conference Tournament. Christian Brothers clinched the No. 2 seed in the tournament with the win.
Harding completed its season with a 2-14-0 overall record and a 1-4-0 mark in the GSC.
Yannick Skull gave Christian Brothers (8-8-1, 3-2) a 1-0 lead on a free kick from 30 yards out in the 30th minute.
For Harding's season to continue, the Bisons needed at least two goals in the second half and could not give up another to CBU.
Christian Brothers ended Harding's hopes within four minutes of halftime, as David Skull knocked in a rebound in the 49th minute.
Ebai Ayuk later scored a pair of goals within a five-minute span to give Christian Brothers a 4-0 lead.
Harding notched its goal in the 75th minute, as sophomore Victor Moya got loose behind the Christian Brothers defense and scored his second on the season.
Ethan Himel concluded the scoring with a goal for Christian Brothers in the 78th minute.
Christian Brothers outshot Harding 19-4 in the game.
