Lady Bison Basketball Defeats West Georgia 66-46

CAROLLTON, Ga. – The Harding women's basketball team picked up their first road victory on Saturday as they defeated West Georgia 66-46 in non-conference action. The Lady Bisons improve to 3-1 on the season.

West Georgia (1-4) missed their first nine shots of the game allowing Harding to jump out to an 11-1 lead. The Wolves battled back to within three before the halftime break as the Lady Bisons took a 26-23 lead into the locker room.

Harding extended their lead by eight in the first five minutes of the second half and didn't allow West Georgia to get any closer. The Lady Bisons took their largest lead, 22 points, with 1:19 left in the game when freshman forward Lauren Harrison made 1-of-2 free throws for Harding.

Junior guard Sierra Rollins led the Lady Bisons with 17 points, hitting 5-of-7 from the free throw line. Senior forward Kallie Bartee finished in double-figure scoring with 10 points, shooting 4-of-7 from the field.

Freshman forward Kristen Celsor led Harding on the boards, grabbing a game-high six rebounds. Senior guard Bailey St. Clair had seven of Harding's 15 steals in the game.

The Lady Bisons didn't allow any of the Wolves players to get in double-figure scoring. Shaquana Bleach and Thomassian Wyatt led West Georgia each scoring nine points.

Harding also held West Georgia to shooting 29 percent from the field (15-of-51) and forced 21 turnovers.

The Lady Bisons continue their road swing as they travel to Livingston, Ala., on Monday to face West Alabama at 5:30 p.m.
