CONWAY, Ark. - One day after enduring its first loss of the season, the Harding men's tennis team rebounded with a 9-0 shutout of Hendrix on Thursday. The victory moved the Bisons to 5-1 on the season.

In doubles action, Harding's brothers duo of Henrique and Marco Ruiz collected their first victory of the spring with an 8-3 victory at No. 1. Chris Beach and Adam Edwards improved to 3-1 at No. 2 doubles with an 8-3 win. At No. 3, Helio Hashimoto and Corey Stumne teamed together for the first time and won easily 8-0.

Henrique Ruiz had the longest singles match of the day, going three sets before defeating Michael Gardner at No. 1. Ruiz lost a first-set tiebreaker 13-11 before winning the second set 6-4 and taking the third 10-3 in a super-tiebreaker. Ruiz is 4-2 in singles action this season, all at No. 1.

Marco Ruiz won in straight sets at No. 2, collecting his first singles victory this year. Ruiz is Harding's active leader in wins with 31 in his career as a Bison.

Beach improved his singles mark this season to 2-2 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 3. Freshman Adam Edwards won his fourth singles match of the season 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4. Helio Hashimoto improved to 4-1 in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5, and Ivan Michelli moved to 3-2 with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6.

Harding will play on the same courts again Friday, taking on John Brown.
