EDMOND, Okla. — A championship run in the "B" doubles draw and deep consolation pushes highlighted the Harding men's tennis team's weekend at the ITA Central Region Championships at the Edmond Tennis Center.

Sophomore Ignacio de Lorenzo and freshman Caden Highfill captured the Doubles "B" Draw title in commanding fashion, rattling off three consecutive 8-4 victories. The fourth-seeded Bison tandem opened with an 8-4 win over Emporia State's Evan Goates and Maxime Raoux in the quarterfinals, followed with an 8-4 semifinal victory against Luca Klaiber and Lucas Vaisse of Nebraska-Kearney, and capped the run by defeating Arkansas-Fort Smith's Rodrigo Revilla Campo and Kevin Praphan, 8-4, in the final.

In the main doubles draw, fifth-seeded Jan Alexander Has and Heinrich Rootman advanced to the quarterfinals. The pair took down Pavel Vysotin and Vitor Monteiro of Northwest Missouri State 8-5 in the Round of 32, then held off Augustana's Mathias Bonnefond and Andreas Nygaard 8-6 in the Round of 16 before falling 8-4 to Washburn's Keita Kuroda and Gael Mourmant.

After a tight opening-round loss in the main draw, senior Caleb Folse and junior Sebastian De Las Salas mounted a dominant consolation doubles run. The duo upset second-seeded Jonas Sommer and Uwe Diehl of Southern Arkansas 8-3, received a walkover in the quarterfinals against Northeastern State, and secured an 8-5 semifinal win over SAU's Balsa Djokovic and Pedro Almeida Andres before their final match against Southern Arkansas was abandoned.

Folse put together an equally impressive run in singles play. Following a three-set battle in the main draw, he tore through the consolation bracket with four consecutive victories. Folse knocked off Southern Arkansas' Taiki Minamino (6-4, 6-4), Augustana's Pedro Pinto (6-4, 6-3), Arkansas-Fort Smith's Nolhan Col-Destailleur (6-4, 1-6, 10-8), and Emporia State's Dimitar Berdankov (7-5, 6-4) to reach the consolation final, where his match with Northeastern State's Baptiste Linet went unplayed.

Three Bisons collected first-round victories in the main singles draw. Ninth-seeded De Las Salas swept past UAFS's Rodrigo Hoppe 6-0, 6-2; Has defeated Linet in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6 (4); and Rootman rallied from a set down to top Southeastern Oklahoma's Benjamin Nahuel Fracassi, 2-6, 7-6 (1), 10-7.
