Harding falls to Hot Shooting #1 Arkansas Tech

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – #1 Arkansas Tech shot 53.8 percent from the field and went on to a 95-64 victory over Harding Saturday night in Gulf South Conference action in Russellville, Ark. Harding falls to 10-11 overall and 3-6 in the GSC West Division.

The Wonder Boys hit 35-of-65 shots from the field including 13 three-pointers. They also hit 12-of-17 from the free throw line.

Laithe Massey led all scoring with 24 points for Arkansas Tech (23-0, 10-0 GSC ), hitting 10-of-13 from the field. Jeremy Dunbar hit five three-pointers for the Wonder Boys and finished with 19 points. Brandon Friedel hit 4-of-5 three-pointers, ending with 16 points.

Harding shot 44.7 percent from the field (21-of-47) and 26.3 percent from behind the three-point line (5-of-19).

Junior guard Sam Brown led Harding with 14 points, hitting two three-pointers. Junior Kevin Brown and senior Trent Morgan each ended with 10 points. Brown grabbed a team-high seven rebounds on the night.

Arkansas Tech forced 16 Harding turnovers, turning them into 19 points.

Harding will be back in action Monday, hosting Southern Arkansas at 7:30 p.m., in the Rhodes Field House.
