St. Clair Breaks Steals Record as Lady Bisons defeat Southern Arkansas

SEARCY – Junior Bailey St. Clair had five steals and broke the Harding single-season steals mark with 66 as the Harding women's basketball team defeated Southern Arkansas 72-63 in Gulf South Conference action Monday night. The Lady Bisons moved to 12-10 on the season and 5-5 in the GSC West Division.

The Lady Bisons trailed by as much as 14 in the second half until the Lady Bisons forced four turnovers in a span of one minute and tied the game with 5:10 left on a Meaghen Kelleybrew layup. Fifty-five seconds later, Sierra Rollins gave Harding the lead on a layup as the Lady Bisons didn't look back. During the Harding comeback, the Lady Bisons went on a 23-2 run.

St. Clair led Harding with 20 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Sierra Rollins had 19 points, hitting 9-of-16 from the field. Senior Stacey Owens was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line and ended with 13 points.

The Muleriders (7-15, 2-8 GSC) were led by Kmaria Hobbs and Cha'Kia Lee who each had 16 points on the night. Raven Jones ended with 12 points and a game high nine rebounds.

Harding dominated the paint scoring 40 points to the Lady Muleriders 24. The Lady Bisons forced 18 Southern Arkansas turnovers and turned them into 23 points.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action Thursday, traveling to Memphis, Tenn., to take on Christian Brothers. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
