SEARCY - The Harding men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Delta State in their final Gulf South Conference regular season match Friday. Harding fell to 14-5 overall and 1-2 in GSC West Division play.
With the loss, Harding will be the No. 3 seed from the West Division in the GSC Tournament, to be played April 17-18 in Montgomery, Ala. Harding will meet West Florida, the No. 2 seed from the GSC East and the ninth-ranked team in Division II.
Harding had one singles win and one doubles win against Delta State.
Ivan Michelli won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5 singles, and
Helio Hashimoto and
Adam Edwards won 8-6 at No. 3 doubles. Michelli's victory was his team-leading 10th singles win of the season. Hashimoto and Edwards are 4-1 as a doubles pair.
