Lady Bisons Pick Up Third Straight GSC Win

MEMPHIS – The Harding women's basketball team hung on to a five point lead with 2:40 left to defeat Christian Brothers 55-48 in Gulf South Conference action Saturday after. The Lady Bisons improved to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the GSC West Division.

Harding played great defense to close out the game as Christian Brothers missed four straight shots in the remaining two minutes of the game. CBU was then forced to foul. The Lady Bisons capitalized on the opportunity, making 5-of-6 free throw.

Harding grabbed 43 rebounds in the contest, 20 of them were offensive. It was the fourth time this season the Lady Bisons have had over 20 offensive rebounds. Junior guard Sierra Rollins led HU with 10. Rollins has grabbed over 10 rebounds in every GSC game this season.

Harding was led by senior guard Bailey St. Clair who scored 10 points for the Lady Bisons.

Despite the win, the Lady Bisons shot 30 percent from the field (18-of-60). It is the first time this season Harding has made fewer than 20 shots and won.

Christian Brothers (7-10, 0-5 GSC) had three players end in double-figure scoring. Caitlin House captured a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Normanique Johnson scored 13 points and Sheen DeBose scored 12 points.

The Lady Bucs played with only seven players. All five starters played over 30 minutes.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Monday as they host Arkansas-Monticello at 5:30 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for last Thursday but because of the weather, the game was postponed.
