Women’s Basketball Defeats Christian Brothers 82-54

MEMPHIS – The Harding women's basketball team picked up their second straight win on Tuesday as they defeated Christian Brothers 82-54 in non-conference action. The Lady Bisons improved to 2-0 on the season.

Harding shot 30-of-56 from the field (53.6 percent) including 7-of-17 from behind the 3-point line (41.2 percent).

The Lady Bisons defense held the Lady Bucs to shooting 28.8 percent from the field and forced 20 turnovers.

HU had 10 players that played over 10 minutes in the game. The Lady Bisons were led by junior guard Deshelle Isaac-Boyce who came off the bench and made 5-of-7 from the field for a career-high 14 points. Freshman guard Shana Holmes was the other HU player in double-figure scoring with 11.

The Lady Bisons outrebounded Christian Brothers 41-36. Senior guard Sierra Rollins led Harding with nine rebounds.

The Lady Bucs (0-2) were led by Jessica Green who had 12 points. Jasmine Ellis made 7-of-7 free throws and ended with 11 points. Ellis also had 10 rebounds to capture a double-double.

Harding will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Seattle, Wash., to take part in the Seattle-Pacific Classic. The Lady Bisons will face Central Washington at 1 p.m., on Friday and host team Seattle-Pacific at 5 p.m., on Saturday.
