PENSACOLA, Fla. – Christian Brothers' Matt Derise scored in the 55th minute to give the 9th-ranked Bucs a 2-1 victory over Harding in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

It was Christian Brothers' third one-goal victory over Harding this season.

The Bucs (15-3-0) took the lead in the 10th minute on a penalty kick goal by GSC Freshman of the Year Jose Ferraz. The penalty kick followed a hand ball foul in the box.

Harding (6-11-2) equalized in the 37th minute on freshman Cole Walker's second goal of the season. The scoring play began with Cameron Rose's cross into the box to Ryan Wilhelm, who dropped a pass to Walker at the far post for a tap in.

Derise then gave Christian Brothers the lead for good with a sliding goal on a through ball from Yannick Skull for his second goal of the season.

Christian Brothers narrowly outshot Harding 16-11. Harding senior goalkeeper Zach Auala made seven saves.

The loss ends the season for the Bisons, who scored 22 goals in 2011 compared to only nine last season. Harding also set a defensive school record with a 1.42 goals against average.
