SEARCY – Senior guard Sierra Rollins finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Harding women's basketball team past Saint Mary's 77-53 on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at the Rhodes Field House. With the win, Harding has won their last four straight home games.
Harding (6-2) tied a season-high with 11 3-pointers in the game. Senior guard Kallie Bartee hit 4-of-5 and finished with a season-high 14 points. Sophomore forward Kristen Celsor was perfect from 3-point range hitting 2-of-2 and also scored 14 points.
It was the second-straight game the Lady Bisons have had five players finish in double-figure scoring. Freshman forward Arielle Saunders hit 5-of-5 free throws and scored 12 points for the second-straight game. Sophomore Katy Preaus came off the bench to score 10 for HU.
Harding played great defense in the game forcing 18 turnovers, had nine steals and five blocks. The Lady Bisons held the Rattler's to shooting 32.7 percent from the field (18-of-55). Harding held Saint Mary's to six field goals in the first half. Saunders led HU with a season-high four steals. She also added two blocks for the Lady Bisons.
Saint Mary's (3-10) was led by DeAnna Patterson who had 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Harding's 77 points were the most Saint Mary's has given up all season.
The Lady Bisons will have the next two weeks off before they travel to Pensacola, Fla., to take part in the West Florida Classic, on Dec. 30-31. Harding will play Texas Women's on Dec. 30 at 12 p.m., and then on Dec. 31 at 2 p.m., the Lady Bisons will face host team West Florida.
