SEARCY – Freshman guard Montana Lewis scored a career-high 22 points as the Harding women's basketball team defeated Christian Brothers 74-56 on Tuesday in non-conference action at the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons improved to 4-2 on the season.
Lewis made 7-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-3 3-pointers. She also made 6-of-6 free throws.
Lewis was part of the HU's 39 bench points. Senior forward Kallie Bartee also came off the bench and made three 3-pointers.
Senior guard Sierra Rollins made 7-of-8 free throws to finish with 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Harding made a season-high 17 free throws on 20 attempts for a season-high 85.0 percentage.
Christian Brothers (2-6) was led by freshman forward Taylor Pugh who made 7-of-8 free throws and finished with 13 points. Senior forward Jasmine Ellis led the Lady Bucs on the boards with nine. Freshman forward Amber Williams had a game-high four blocks and a team-high three steals.
The Harding defense held Christian Brothers to shooting 31.5 percent from the field (17-of-54). The Lady Bisons also forced 23 turnovers and had 14 steals. Freshman forward Arielle Saunders led HU with two blocks and two steals, tying a career high in both categories.
The Lady Bisons will have more than a week off before hosting Saint Edward's on Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m., at the Rhodes Field House.
