Lady Bison Basketball Travels to Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday

SEARCY – The Harding women's basketball team travels to Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday as they continue Gulf South Conference action. With four games remaining, the Lady Bisons are in fourth place in the GSC West Division. The top four teams from each division will advance to the conference tournament in March.

NOTES FOR THE GAME

Harding enters the game with a 15-7 overall record and a 6-4 GSC West Division record after defeating Southern Arkansas 63-46 on Monday.

Junior guard Sierra Rollins has been playing very well of late, averaging 20 points and nine rebounds in the last three games. During the stint, she is shooting 67.5 percent from the field and also averaging 4.7 assists. Rollins leads the Lady Bisons, averaging 15.1 points and 8.8 rebounds a game.

Senior guard Bailey St. Clair averages 12.4 points per game. St. Clair has also stepped up her game in conference play averaging 15.2 points per game.

During conference play, Harding ranks first in the GSC in free throw percentage (75.2). The Lady Bisons have made 185 free throws, more than anyone else in conference action, and average 18.5 a game.

Harding is coached by Tim Kirby, who is in his 6th season as head coach of the Lady Bisons. He has compiled a 102-63 record at Harding.

Arkansas-Monticello

Arkansas-Monticello heads into the game with a 6-16 overall record and a 2-8 GSC West Division record. The Cotton Blossoms have lost their last eight games. Their last loss came against Henderson State on Monday.

Arkansas-Monticello has three players that average in double-figure scoring. Alex Hart leads the way for the Cotton Blossoms averaging 14.8 points. Chelsea Johnson averages 11.6 points and Channon Haywood isn't far behind her averaging 11.2 points. Jerica Hubbard leads UAM on the boards averaging 8.2 a game.

The Series

Arkansas-Monticello leads the series between the two teams, 29-22. Harding has won the last three meetings including a 52-40 win in Searcy earlier this season.
