ARKADELPHIA – Harding men's basketball needed strong leadership to bounce back from a tough loss Thursday to Arkansas Tech.

Enter Kevin Brown.

The senior forward made his first nine shots and tied his season high with 32 points to lead Harding to an 89-70 victory over Henderson State at the Duke Wells Center.

The victory gave the Bisons a 22-4 overall record and a 12-2 mark in the Gulf South Conference West Division. Harding finished second in the division and will meet the third seed from the GSC East on Friday at the GSC Tournament in Southaven, Miss.

Brown, who has done his best work this season after Harding losses, shot 11-of-15 from the field, made two 3-pointers, and hit 8-of-9 from the free throw line. He also added 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.

Brown also had 32 points earlier this season against North Alabama in a game that came one day after a one-point loss to Alabama-Huntsville.

Stephen Blake also shot it well for the Bisons, hitting 7-of-9 from the field and scoring 18 points. Sam Brown added 11.

Josh French led Henderson State with 23 points, shooting 9-of-21 from the field.

Harding shot 54 percent as a team and made 25-of-31 free throws.
