SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – The Harding men's tennis team won its seventh consecutive match, defeating NAIA opponent John Brown 9-0 on Friday.
The Bisons improved to 13-1 overall and 6-0 on the road. Four of Harding's last five wins have been by 9-0 scores.
The closest doubles match was at No. 1, where Adam Edwards and Germans Uglovs won 8-5 and improved to 7-3 as a team. Corey Stumne and Aldo Campos remained unbeaten at 3-0 with an 8-2 victory at No. 2. Anthony Saegert teamed with J.B. Smith for the first time this season and won 8-0 at No. 3.
Edwards played No. 1 singles for the first time and won 6-1, 6-3. He has a team-leading 10 singles victories this season. Uglovs won his fourth straight at No. 2 singles, and Campos won for the second straight time at No. 3. Stumne won his singles debut in straight sets at No. 4, and Saegert improved to 2-0 with a three-set victory at No. 5. Geoff Synco won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 and improved to 3-0.
