HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Harding volleyball team finished the Alabama-Huntsville Tournament with two wins on Saturday, defeating Cedarville and District of Columbia by a 3-0 score. The Lady Bisons improved to 9-1 on the season.

In the first match against Cedarville, Harding was led by freshman outside hitter Kayln Helton who had 12 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Mollie Arnold was the other Lady Bison in double-figure kills with 11.

The Harding defense had seven team blocks in the match, led by sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Short who had four.

Cedarville was led by Hannah Wagner who had 12 kills. Lauren Williams led the defense with 14 digs.

In the second match against District of Columbia, Arnold led the Lady Bisons with 10 kills. As a team, Harding had 46 kills, 12 errors on 107 hitting attempts for a .318 hitting percentage. Junior right side hitter Bailee Graham led the Lady Bisons with a .750 hitting percentage.

The Harding defense was led by sophomore defensive specialist Weslynn Williams who had 15 digs. The Lady Bisons also had seven blocks in the match.

District of Columbia was led by Vanessa Garley who had eight kills. Kamene Rose led the defense with 12 digs.

Harding will be back in action on Tuesday as they open Great American Conference action at Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Ark., at 7 p.m.
