Harding Falls to Ouachita Baptist, 67-60

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baptist had four players in double figures and defeated Harding 67-60 Thursday in Great American Conference play at Vining Arena.

With the victory, Ouachita Baptist (11-4) moved into first place in the conference with a 4-1 record. Harding had won its last nine over OBU prior to Thursday and fell to 7-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Ouachita Baptist shot 56 percent in the first half and led Harding 39-30 at halftime. The Tigers shot 53 percent for the game. Harding has lost all four games this season when their opponents have shot over 50 percent.

Harding's shooting improved to 52 percent in the second half and the Bisons closed to with six late in the game. Harding missed a pair of layups with a chance to cut the lead even further, but Ouachita Baptist held on for the victory.

Sophomore Hayden Johnson led Harding with 14 points, and junior Bradley Spencer added 10. Junior Zach Roddenberry, Harding's leading scorer entering the game, was in early foul trouble and finished with eight.

Nigel Ramsey led Ouachita Baptist with 18 points. He also had seven rebounds and six assists. Emmanuel Engulu had 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Austin Mitchell had 13 points, and Michael Morris had 10.

Harding finished its three-game conference road trip with a 1-2 record, winning at East Central last Thursday. The Bisons return home Saturday to meet Southeastern Oklahoma at the Rhodes Field House at 4 p.m.
