HU Men's Soccer Falls 2-1 at MIAA Leader Lindenwood

Box Score ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Harding men's soccer got a late goal from junior Ryan Wilhelm, but the Bisons fell 2-1 to MIAA leaders Lindenwood on Saturday.

Harding (4-8-3, 2-4-1) trailed 2-0 after Lindenwood scored on a 33rd minute goal by Andre Hayne and a 48th minute goal by Daniel Fernandez.

Wilhelm scored in the 88th minute. It was his team-leading fourth goal of the season and ninth of his career.

All six of Harding's shots in the game came in the second half.

Junior Stephan Daley made his first start of the season in goal for the Bisons. He played the full 90 minutes and made three saves.

Lindenwood (8-2-3, 5-0-2) remained unbeaten and in first place in the MIAA standings. With 17 points (3 for a win, 1 for a tie), the Lions are one point ahead of both Northeastern State (5-1-1, 16 points) and Truman State (5-1-1, 16 points). Fourth-place Fort Hays State is 5-2-0 with 15 points.

Harding is mathematically still alive for the fourth and final MIAA Tournament berth. The Bisons have seven points with three home conference games remaining.

The first of those games is Thursday against Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m.
