SOSU Women Hit 15 3-Pointers to Defeat Harding

Box Score DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma connected on a season-high 15 3-pointers, including eight from senior Nikki Nestor, and cruised to an 87-68 victory over Harding in Great American Conference women's basketball action Saturday at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Southeastern Oklahoma made 8-of-15 3-pointers and 8-of-9 free throws before halftime and led 46-30 at the break. Harding, who trailed at halftime for only the sixth time this season, shot 38 percent and faced a 21-point deficit with 7:46 left in the half.

Harding cut the Southeastern Oklahoma lead down to 10 on a Kristen Celsor 3-pointer with 12:46 left, but Nikki Nestor made three 3-pointers during the ensuing 13-0 run that put the game away.

Nestor, a native of Dallas, made 8-of-10 from 3-point range, scored a season-high 28 points and added six assists.

Celsor led Harding with 23 points, connecting on 7-of-17 from the field and 7-of-11 free throws. Freshman Arielle Saunders had 18 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for Southeastern Oklahoma, who improved to 10-14 overall and 6-8 in conference play. Harding lost its second straight and fell out of a first-place tie atop the conference standings. The Lady Bisons are 16-7 overall and 9-4 in the GAC.

Harding is back in action Monday as they host GAC leaders Arkansas Tech for Senior Night at Rhodes Field House. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
