Lady Bisons Basketball Falls to #14 Arkansas Tech

Box Score SEARCY – Arkansas Tech junior Roselis Silva scored 18 points and 12 steals and led the 14th-ranked Golden Suns to a 73-62 victory over Harding on Monday at Rhodes Field House.

Harding (16-8, 9-5) suffered its third straight defeat and fell into tie with Ouachita Baptist for third place in the Great American Conference standings.

Arkansas Tech (20-3, 11-3) won its ninth straight after Harding defeated the Golden Suns 77-69 on Jan. 23, snapping their 42-game home winning streak.

Harding led 28-26 with 42 seconds remaining in the first half, but Silva made a 3-pointer and two free throws, and Tech's Lily Abreu hit a layup with five seconds left that gave the Golden Suns a 33-28 lead at halftime.

Silva made another 3-pointer to open the second half, and Arkansas Tech led throughout the rest of the game.

Harding junior Kristen Celsor, who had 27 points against Arkansas Tech in Russellville, set a career high with 29 points Monday. Celsor made 8-of-11 from the field and 12-of-15 free throws.

Harding outrebounded Arkansas Tech 41-31 but committed 28 turnovers that led to 28 points from Arkansas Tech.

Natalia Santos added 14 points for Arkansas Tech. Katie Horsman had 13 points and Jessica Weatherford scored 12.

Freshman Arielle Saunders had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Harding.

The Lady Bisons celebrated Senior Night at Rhodes Field House. Seniors Kallie Bartee, Sierra Rollins, and Cherilyn McMenamy were honored in a post-game ceremony.

Harding will play its final two regular season games on the road, playing Thursday at Arkansas-Monticello and Saturday at Henderson State before opening the Great American Conference Tournament on Mar. 2 in Bartlesville, Okla.
