Thirteen Three-Pointers Not Enough as Harding Falls to UAM

Box Score MONTICELLO, Ark. – Arkansas-Monticello senior L.A. Farmer scored 31 points and the Boll Weevils took advantage of 17 offensive rebounds in a 80-73 victory over Harding in Great American Conference play on Thursday at Steelman Field House.

With the victory, Arkansas-Monticello moved a game ahead of Harding in the GAC standings. The Weevils improved to 19-8 overall and 9-6 in conference play and are in third place in the conference. Harding is a game behind in fourth place.

Farmer, who made only one shot and had five points in Arkansas-Monticello's loss to Harding in Searcy in January, made 9-of-19 from the field, hit four 3-pointers and hit 9-of-11 free throws.

Harding (13-12, 8-7), who had won its previous four games against Arkansas-Monticello, made a season-high 13 3-pointers to stay in the game.

UAM, who entered the game as the best offensive rebounding team in the GAC, outscored Harding 21-9 on second-chance points.
Junior Zach Roddenberry led Harding with 17 points and six rebounds. Senior Bradley Spencer made three 3-pointers and scored 15. Hayden Johnson also made three 3-pointers and added 13, and Weston Jameson made four 3-pointers, scored 12 and had a team-high six assists.

Sergio Crowe added 21 points for UAM.

Harding's final regular season game is Saturday against Henderson State in Arkadelphia. Tipoff at the Wells Center is at 4 p.m.
