MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Harding men's basketball will be seeking its third straight Great American Conference victory Saturday as it travels to meet Southern Arkansas at 7:30 p.m. at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.
Harding (10-8, 5-3) has had a week off since winning a pair of games at the Rhodes Field House. The Bisons defeated Arkansas-Monticello 74-66 last Thursday in Searcy and followed that with a 78-62 victory over GAC-leader Henderson State.
Harding, currently third in the nine-team GAC, is undefeated in four home conference games this season but has lost three straight on the road after winning 78-71 at East Central on Jan. 12.
Southern Arkansas (12-9, 5-4) snapped a two-game losing streak Thursday with a 77-54 road win over Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Muleriders are 8-4 at home this season and 3-2 in conference games at the Watson Athletic Center.
Harding and Southern Arkansas are meeting for the second time this season. The Bisons defeated the Muleriders 90-76 in Harding's conference opener at Rhodes Field House. Harding shot 60 percent from the field in the first half of that game and led by 15 points at halftime. Junior guard Bradley Spencer scored a career-high 29 points, and junior forward Zach Roddenberry had 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Chris Davis made 12 free throws and led Southern Arkansas with 21 points.
