SEARCY – Harding men's tennis set a school record with its 16th straight victory to open a season with an 8-1 victory over University of the Ozarks on Thursday in Clarksville, Ark.

It was Harding's third victory this season against Ozarks.

Harding won all three doubles matches and took five of the six singles matches.

Jon Mark Rowden won in three sets at No. 2 to improve to 10-0 in singles this season. He also combined with Kittibodee Singnil to win at No. 1 doubles. The duo is 7-0 as a team this season, and Harding is 45-3 in doubles matches.

Harding won its first 15 matches during the 2007-08 season before finishing 15-7. The men's tennis team's record for most consecutive victories is 25, accomplished twice, the last time during the 1989-90 and 1990-91 seasons.

The Bisons' next action is Wednesday, March 21 against LeMoyne-Owen in Searcy.
