Harding Women Outgun Henderson State at GAC Tournament

Box Score BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Harding women's basketball had six players with 10 or more points and defeated Henderson State 78-52 in the quarterfinals of the Great American Conference Tournament at Bruin Fieldhouse.

Harding's tournament continues Saturday at 8:30 p.m. against Southeastern Oklahoma State, who upset No. 1 seed Arkansas Tech earlier in the evening.

Harding (17-10) scored the first seven points of the game and went on a 16-4 run that began with a pair of Kallie Bartee 3-pointers and ended with a third Bartee 3-pointer with 11:21 left in the half that put Harding ahead 23-7.

Harding twice led by as many as 22 points, shot 56 percent in the first half and led 40-20 at halftime. Harding's lead grew as large as 28 in the second half when Tabitha Haney made two free throws with 6:37 left that put the Lady Bisons ahead 69-41.

Harding freshman Arielle Saunders led all scorers with 20 points, hitting 12-of-13 free throws. The Lady Bisons made 26-of-31 from the line, including 20-of-24 in the second half.

Henderson  State (14-13) shot just 35 percent and missed 14 of 18 from 3-point range. Crystal Harrison led the Lady Reddies with 14 points.

Harding outrebounded Henderson State 38-23.

Harding got 13 points from Haney, 12 from sophomore Kristen Celsor, 11 from Bartee, and 10 each from Montana Lewis and Cherilyn McMenamy.
