Harding Men's Tennis Meets OBU in GAC Tournament Semis

SEARCY – Harding men's tennis will meet 11th-ranked Ouachita Baptist in the semifinal round of the Great American Conference Championship on Friday at 12:15 p.m. at the OBU outdoor courts in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Harding enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed. The Bisons are 20-3 overall but lost all three conference matches.

Ouachita Baptist is 12-6 overall and went 3-0 in conference play, including an 8-1 victory over Harding on April 11 in Searcy.

Harding's doubles lineup will include the all-freshman team of Jon Mark Rowden and Kittibodee Singnil at No. 1. The duo is 10-3 in doubles play but lost all three conference matches by 9-8 scores.

Alex Ford and Caleb McReynolds form Harding's No. 2 doubles team. They are 8-2 this season with all their matches coming at No. 2.
Helio Hashimoto and Henrique Ruiz will play at No. 3, where they are 6-1 this season and 7-3 overall.

Singnil will play No. 1 singles for Harding. He was 12-1 this season with his only loss coming to Helge Knuth of Ouachita Baptist in three sets.

Rowden will be at No. 2 singles, where he won his first 15 matches before falling to Marko Boskovic of Ouachita Baptist, Division II's 25th-ranked player.

Harding is unsettled at No. 3 and No. 4. According to head coach David Elliott, those spots will be selected from McReynolds, Ford, and Ruiz. McReynolds is 6-2 in singles play, while Ford is 9-5 and Ruiz is 13-3.

Hashimoto will play No. 5 singles. He has a 13-3 record, including an 11-2 mark at No. 5. Hashimoto earned Harding's only point in the first matchup against Ouachita Baptist, winning in three sets.

Adam Edwards, who is 12-1 in singles play this season, will play No. 6.

The winner of the Ouachita Baptist-Harding match will play the winner of the East Central-Southeastern Oklahoma State match for the championship on Saturday at 11 a.m. The championship will be played on Ouachita Baptist's outdoor courts.
