ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Harding men's tennis had its season come to an end Friday with a 5-0 loss to 11th-ranked Ouachita Baptist in the semifinals of the Great American Conference Tournament.
Harding finished with a 20-4 record after winning its first 19 matches of the season, a school record.
Ouachita Baptist moves on to play the winner of East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday in the championship match.
The Tigers won all three doubles matches. Harding's No. 1 team of
Kittibodee Singnil and
Jon Mark Rowden played the closest match, falling 8-6 to Helge Knuth and Marvin Muller, the No. 6-ranked team in the NCAA Division II South Central Region.
Ouachita Baptist finished off the victory with two straight-sets singles victories. Kenny Brasil defeated
Alex Ford at No. 3, and Teodor Anghel defeated
Adam Edwards at No. 6.
