Game Notes
SEARCY – Harding men's soccer plays its first game as a member of the MIAA men's soccer conference Saturday at 1 p.m. against Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla.
The Bisons will need a better performance than they had in their final tune-up, a 4-0 loss to Lyon on Wednesday in Batesville, Ark.
Harding (2-2-0) gave up a goal to Lyon just 23 seconds into the game and never recovered. The Bisons trailed 3-0 at halftime and could not find any of the second half magic they had displayed in the season's first three games. Harding has five goals this season, all in the second halves of games.
Northeastern State (3-1-0) has lived up to its preseason billing as one of the favorites in the MIAA. The 21st-ranked RiverHawks have outscored their opponents 9-4 through the first four games and are coming off a 4-1 victory over Sioux Falls on Sunday.
Harding has an opportunity to make history against Northeastern State. A victory would not only be the first MIAA victory for Harding but also the first in 10 meetings against the RiverHawks and the first ever against a nationally-ranked team.
