SEARCY – Harding men's soccer takes a brief break from Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play Tuesday and will host NAIA opponent Central Baptist at the Harding Soccer Field. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m., with live stats available on HardingSports.com.
Harding (3-4-0) played its last four games on the road and went 1-3-0 during the stretch. The good news is that the victory came 2-0 over Southern Nazarene in MIAA play. The Bisons will play their next three at home, including conference games against Upper Iowa on Friday and Truman State on Sunday.
Harding has had eight different players score its nine goals this season. Freshman
Adam Borsheim became the latest Bison to score. His 70th minute goal against 15th-ranked Fort Hays State brought the Bisons within 2-1. Harding could not find the equalizer in Saturday's loss.
Central Baptist, a school of about 600 located in Conway, Ark., is coming off an 8-1 victory over Hillsdale Free Will Baptist on Friday. The Mustangs (4-3-1) have scored 24 goals in their eight games this season and have allowed 20.
Harding and Central Baptist have met three times with the Mustangs leading the series 2-1. Central Baptist won 3-0 last season in Conway. Harding won the first meeting of the series 2-1 in 2008.
