Bison Soccer Travels to Central Baptist on Tuesday

Harding

·         Harding plays its fourth of five straight road games to close out the season Tuesday when it plays Central Baptist in non-conference action in Conway, Ark., at 6 p.m.

·         Harding enters the game at 5-6-3 overall and could become the first team in program history to finish the season with a .500 record or better. The Bisons play their final game of the season on Friday at nationally-ranked Northeastern State.

·         Harding is coming off a 4-1 road loss to 17th-ranked Fort Hays State on Saturday. The Bisons' lone goal came from Cole Walker (his second of the season) in the 55th minute. Walker has two goals and three assists in Harding's last seven games.

·         Harding has been outscored 25-24. The Bisons have 12 first-half goals, 11 in the second half, and one in overtime.

·         Harding has 12 different players who have at least one goal or one assist. Ian Park and Jacob Stevens lead the team with four goals each, and Christopher Walker has a team-best four assists. Stevens leads Harding with 33 shots and 15 shots on goal.

·         Harding has used two starting goalkeepers this season. Senior Will Lynn has started eight games, has a 1.36 goals against average and an 77.8 saves percentage. Lynn has won five games in goal this season, two short of Harding's single-season record of seven by Michael Allen in 2003. Freshman Seth Peterson has made six starts and has a 2.08 goals against average and a 69.0 saves percentage.

·         Gehrig Haberstock leads Harding with 1,302 minutes played this season. Freshman Phillip White is next with 1,296 minutes.

Central Baptist

·         Central Baptist is an NAIA school located in Conway, Ark. The Mustangs compete in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference.

·         The Mustangs enter the game 6-9-0 overall and are coming off a 2-0 home victory over Central Christian on Saturday. Sabelo Hlongwane, a senior from Johannesburg, South Africa, and Jeyson Caballero, a sophomore from Arkadelphia, Ark., scored the two goals for the Mustangs.

·         Hlongwane leads Central Baptist with 10 goals and six assists. The Mustangs have been outscored 32-29 in their 14 games.

·         Central Baptist has started four different goalkeepers this season. Sophomore Alberto Pinto started against Central Christian and made four saves in the shutout.

 The Series              

·         Harding and Central Baptist are meeting for the fifth time with the Mustangs holding a 2-1-1 series lead. Harding's lone win came in the first meeting between the teams, a 2-1 victory in 2008. The teams tied 1-1 last season in Searcy.
