Box Score

SEARCY – Harding junior Jacob Stevens scored in the seventh minute to give the Bisons a 1-0 victory in non-conference men's soccer action Monday at Stevens Soccer Complex.

The victory snapped a three-game skid for Harding, who improved to 3-4-2 overall. Ouachita Baptist lost for the sixth time in its last seven games and fell to 1-6-1.

Stevens' goal, his third of the season, came on a corner kick from freshman Dillon Sherrill. It was Harding's first goal on a corner kick this season.

Harding senior goalkeeper Will Lynn made four saves, two in each half, and recorded his first collegiate shutout. David Henley had nine saves in goal for the Tigers.

Harding outshot Ouachita Baptist 21-17, and the Tigers managed only four shots on goal. The shutout was the Bisons' second of the season and first since a 0-0 tie with Texas Wesleyan on Sept. 14.

With the victory, Harding won both meetings with Ouachita Baptist this season. The Bisons defeated the Tigers 3-1 in Arkadelphia on Sept. 17 and now hold an 11-4-2 advantage in the series. Harding has won seven of the eight meetings between the teams in Searcy.
