Harding Indoor Track in Action at Samford Multi and Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Harding men's and women's indoor track teams return to action Saturday at the Samford Multi and Invitational.

Running events will begin at the Birmingham CrossPlex at 8 a.m. with the men's 5,000 meters. Field events begin at 9 a.m. with the men's weight throw.

Harding will have 24 men in competition. Junior Landon Belcher is the Bisons' highest-ranked athlete competing at Samford. Belcher is ranked 18th in NCAA Division II in the 400 meters. Harding's 20th-ranked 4x400-meter relay team of Dillon Bagwell, Kory Howard, Kevin Naceanceno, and Belcher will also race. Freshman Corey Bassett, ranked 21st in Division II in the 60-meter dash, will also be in action.

There will be 17 Lady Bisons in competition led by Harding's fifth-ranked distance medley relay team of Dallis Bailey, Portia Bell, Tammy Kim and Ewa Zaborowska.

Two Lady Bisons who have are provisional qualifiers for the indoor national meet will attempt to qualifier in different events Saturday.

Zaborowska, already a provisional qualifier in the 3,000 meters, will race for the first time this season in the mile. And Bell, a qualifier and Harding school-record holder in the 400-meter dash, will race in the 60-meter dash.

Senior Tiffany Chambers broke her own school record in the pole vault in her last outing and is ranked 28th in Division II. She will look to break the mark again Saturday and move into the top 20.
