BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Harding women's basketball had its season end Saturday with an 82-68 loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State in the semifinals of the Great American Conference Tournament at Bruin Field House.
Harding (19-9) completed its seventh consecutive season with 17 or more victories. Southwestern (23-5) advanced to Sunday's championship game to meet the winner of the East Central-Arkansas Tech game.
Harding struggled with its shooting in the first half and trailed 42-25 at halftime.
The Lady Bisons opened the second half with an 18-8 run and cut the Bulldogs lead to only 50-43 with 13:53 left.
Southwestern answered the run and pulled out to an 11-point lead, 62-51, with 8:20 remaining. Harding then scored five straight, with Kristen Celsor's layup trimming the lead to 62-56.
The Lady Bisons never got any closer.
Sophomore Tabitha Haney made five of Harding's nine 3-pointers and led the Lady Bisons with a career-high 18 points. Junior Montana Lewis had 14 points and 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season, and Celsor had 14 points and seven rebounds.
Michelle Fisher led Southwestern with 20 points.
