Harding

- Harding opens its 14th season of intercollegiate soccer when it hosts Dallas Baptist on Thursday at the Stevens Soccer Complex. The Bisons are 3-10 in season openers but have won their opener both of the last two seasons. Harding defeated Williams Baptist 2-1 to open 2012.

- The Bisons return nine letterwinners, including five starters, off last season's team that finished 4-11-3 overall and 2-7-1 in its first season in the MIAA.

- Harding's leading returning scorer is senior midfielder Ryan Wilhelm, who led the Bisons with five goals and tied for the team lead with three assists last season.

- Harding is coached by Odie Guzman, who is in his second season as head coach of the Bisons.

Dallas Baptist

- Dallas Baptist is a member of the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference and has an undergraduate enrollment of about 3,500 students.

- The Patriots finished 4-13-1 overall last season, their first since restarting the men's soccer program for the first time since 2004. Dallas Baptist was 1-8-1 in the Heartland Conference.

- The Patriots are led by second-year coach Chris Crawford.

The Series

- Harding leads the series 2-1-0 overall. The teams are meeting for the first time since a 3-2 Dallas Baptist victory in Dallas in 2004. Harding won the only other meeting in Searcy, 6-2 in 2001.

- The two teams have combined to score 18 goals in the three previous games. Harding's six-goal total in the 2001 game is tied for the second-most ever scored by the Bisons against an NCAA Division II team. Harding scored a record 7-2 victory over Division II Delta State in 2003.
