SEARCY – Junior forward Haley Hatcher scored four goals for Ouachita Baptist as the Tigers defeated the Harding women's soccer team 5-3 on Friday in Great American Conference action. Harding falls to 4-10-0 overall and 4-2-0 in the GAC.
Ouachita Baptist (4-8-1, 3-2-0 GAC) scored its first goal in the seventh minute when sophomore midfielder Bryson Rial sent a throughball up the middle to Hatcher. Her shot found the lower right corner of the net.
Harding tied the game in the 12th minute when junior midfielder Audrey Adkison took a corner kick that found the head of junior midfielder Melissa Minnich.
Hatcher scored her second goal in the 27th minute when she stole the ball away from the Harding defense after a short goal kick. Her shot went to the upper right corner of the net.
Minnich scored her second goal of the net for Harding in the 48th minute off a corner kick taken by Adkison. It was her third goal of the season.
Hatcher scored again in the 52nd minute when she dribbled through the defense and hit a shot that went off the bottom of the crossbar and into the back of the net.
Ouachita Baptist made it 4-2 in the 56th minute when Rial stole the ball from the Harding defense and toe poked her shot to the right corner of the net. It was her second goal of the season.
Hatcher scored her 14th goal of the season in the 77th minute when she dribbled through the defense and hit a left footed shot to the upper left corner of the net.
Harding scored its third goal off a corner kick in the 82nd minute. Adkison took a corner kick and it was cleared right back to her and she found the upper right corner of the net from the left side of the field. It was her sixth goal of the season.
Harding had 27 shots in the game as 13 were on frame. Ouachita Baptist freshman goalkeeper Lauren Llanas had 10 saves.
After the game, the Lady Bisons recognized three seniors for their contributions to Harding Soccer. They were Danielle Nonaka, Katelyn Tschiggfrie and Anne Fitzgerald.
Harding will finish up the regular season with a four match road trip. The Lady Bisons will first travel to Weatherford, Okla., to face Southwestern Oklahoma on Thursday at 3 p.m.
