Harding

Harding men's soccer looks to snap a three-game skid Thursday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Lindenwood in an MIAA game.

Harding's last victory was a 6-1 road win on Sept. 25 at Southwest Baptist. The Bisons then fell 4-0 at No. 16 Northeastern State, 2-1 at home to Upper Iowa, and 4-0 at No. 25 Fort Hays State.

Harding enters the game 2-3-0 in conference play and in fifth place. But the Bisons are just one game back of three teams (Fort Hays State, Upper Iowa, and Lindenwood) tied for second.

The Bison defense will look to shore up its play in the second half. Each of the last seven goals allowed have come after halftime.

Harding's 13 goals this season have come from six different players. Senior midfielder Jacob Stevens leads the team with four goals and nine points. He has Harding's lone goal in the last three games, a 27th-minute penalty kick against Upper Iowa.

Harding is scoring 1.62 goals per game, fourth in the MIAA. The Bisons allow 2.31 goals per game, also fourth.

Stevens has 10 goals in his Harding career, one back of active leader Ian Park's 11. Stevens also has both of Harding's game-winning goals this season and is tied for second among Bison soccer players with five career game-winning goals.

All four of Stevens' goals have come in MIAA games, and he is tied with Upper Iowa's Johnny McBeth for the most goals in MIAA contests. Stevens is the only player in the MIAA with two game-winning goals in conference games.

Senior defender Gehrig Haberstock has played 4,793 minutes in his Harding career. With 207 more minutes, Haberstock will become only the fifth Bison to play 5,000 or more minutes. The other four are: Jackson Savage (5,955, 2009-12), Chad Marshall (5,739, 2006-09), Austin Brown (5,606, 2008-11), and Steve Hedeman (5,112, 2006-09).

Lindenwood

Lindenwood enters the game 5-4-2 overall and 3-2-0 in MIAA games. The Lions have won three of their last four overall, but have won only once in five road games this season and have been outscored 21-4 on the road.

The Lions have 16 goals from seven different players. Lindenwood is led by Andre Hayne, a junior forward from Vitoria, Brazil, and Mitchell Hunt, a senior midfielder from St. Louis, Missouri. Both players have four goals.

Lindenwood is arguably the most physical team in the MIAA. The Lions lead the conference in fouls per game (16.09) and yellow cards per game (2.36).

The Lions average 1.45 goals per game, fifth in the seven-team MIAA. Lindenwood also ranks fifth in the MIAA with 2.41 goals allowed per game.

The Series

Harding and Lindenwood have played three times, all as members of the MIAA. Lindenwood has won all three meetings and all by one-goal margins. The teams have played twice in Searcy. The Lions won 2-1 in 2011 and 1-0 last season.
