SEARCY - Harding senior midfielder
Jacob Stevens scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 74th minute to give the Bisons a 1-1 double overtime tie with Lindenwood on Thursday night in MIAA men's soccer action at Stevens Field.
The Bisons record moved to 2-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in MIAA games. With the tie, Harding remains in fifth place in the conference standings, one-half game behind Upper Iowa in the chase for the four conference tournament berths. Lindenwood (5-4-3, 3-2-1) holds down the third spot.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Harding pushed forward in the second half and Stevens finally brought the Bisons level after taking a short pass from
Dylan Sherrill and toe-poking it inside the near post. All five of Steven's goals this season have come in conference games.
Lindenwood scored its goal in the 32nd minute. Andre Hayne, who also has five goals on the season, scored from 25 yards out on an assist from Steven Hutchinson.
Both teams had four shots in the two overtime periods, but neither netted the game-winner.
Harding will play its second of three straight home games next Thursday when it hosts nationally-ranked Northeastern State at 7 p.m.
