FAYETTE, Iowa – Upper Iowa's Rhys Williams scored his second penalty kick goal of the game in the 104th minute to give the Peacocks a 2-1 victory over Harding and end the Bisons' seasonSaturday.
Harding (4-9-3, 4-7-1) needed a two-goal victory over Upper Iowa to earn the fourth MIAA Tournament spot. With the victory, Upper Iowa (10-6-2, 6-5-1) clinched the fourth seed and will take on regular-season champion Northeastern State on Nov. 6 in Kansas City, Mo.
Trailing 1-0, Harding tied the game in the 40th minute on Jacob Stevens' team-leading seventh goal. Upper Iowa opened the scoring only a minute earlier on Williams' first penalty kick goal.
