Basketball Bisons Fall at Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Harding men's basketball team fell to Christian Brothers 92-68 in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon. The Bisons fell to 5-6 on the season.

The loss snapped a two-game winning streak and Harding falls to 0-4 on the road. It was the first time Harding played on New Year's Eve since 1975.

Freshman guard Jacob Roark came off the bench and hit four 3-pointers and led Harding with 16 points. Junior forward Andraz Kavas had 15 points and a team-high four rebounds for the Bisons. Junior forward Antoine Burrell made six of his seven shots and finished with 13 points.

Christian Brothers (6-4) was led by Trey Casey who had 18 points. Jeff Larkin had 16 points and Drew Hildreth finished with 13 points for the Bucs.

Christian Brothers shot 58.6 percent from the field in the game (34-of-58) and made 10 3-pointers. CBU also made 14-of-18 free throws.

Harding, who came into the game averaging 10.5 3-pointers per game, made only six from behind the arc (6-of-28, 21.4 percent).

Christian Brothers had 14 offensive boards and turned them into 21 points. Harding grabbed a season-low 20 rebounds as nine of them were on the offensive end.

The Bisons will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to face Ouachita Baptist in Great American Conference action at 3 p.m.
