SEARCY - Harding men's tennis dropped two close doubles matches and could not recover in singles, losing 6-3 to Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday in Great American Conference action at the Harding Tennis Complex.

No. 47 Harding fell to 6-6 overall and 0-1 in the GAC, while Southeastern Oklahoma improved to 10-5 overall and 2-0 in conference. Southeastern defeated Ouachita Baptist 6-3 on Friday for its first conference victory.

Harding's doubles team of Mathaus Spiering and Yann Le Mat won a tie breaker to take a 9-8 victory at No. 1 doubles. The duo is 5-3 overall this season.

The Bisons' two points in singles came from Spiering at No. 1 and Jon Mark Rowden at No. 3. Spiering, ranked No. 5 in the Central Region, defeated Alberto Blesa, ranked No. 13, 7-6, 3-6, 11-9. It was Spiering's fifth straight singles victory. He improved to 15-2 overall, 10-1 in dual matches, and 6-1 against regionally-ranked opponents.

Rowden won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, and improved to 11-6 overall and 6-5 in dual matches.

Harding returns to the court Tuesday to take on Ouachita Baptist in a GAC matchup in Arkadelphia, Ark.
