SEARCY – Missouri Western State senior midfielder Teddi Serna found the back of the net in the second minute of the second overtime to lift the Griffons over the Harding women's soccer team 1-0 on Friday. The Lady Bisons will continue the Great American Conference/Mid-America Intercollgiate Athletics Association Challenge on Sunday as they host Emporia State at 3 p.m.
It was the season opener for both teams.
Serna's goal came after K.C. Ramsell's shot that hit off the crossbar.
Missouri Western State had 25 shots in the game as 12 of them were on goal. Lady Bison freshman goalkeeper Ashley Hudson had 11 saves. The Griffons held Harding to seven shots.
