SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team defeated NCAA Division I Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3-0 (27-25, 25-10, 25-12) on Friday in non-conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

RECORDS

Harding improves to 7-10 overall and Arkansas-Pine Bluff falls to 3-16.

SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS

Harding took a 4-0 lead in the first set but allowed Arkansas-Pine Bluff to climb back into the set on 6 errors. Tied 8-8, Harding went on a 10-4 run to lead 18-12. The Lady Lions fought back to take a 22-21 lead on an 11-4 run on three kills and three blocks. The teams exchanged points and with Arkansas-Pine Bluff up 24-23, Harding went on a 4-1 run to take the set 27-25.

SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS

Harding took a 10-2 lead in the second set and didn't look back as it won 25-10. The Lady Bisons had 17 kills in the set and hit .471.

SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS

Harding took an 18-9 lead in the third set and then closed the set on a 7-3 run. The Lady Bisons had 16 kills in the set with no attack errors.

TEAM STATS

After hitting .116 in the first set, Harding finished with a .333 hitting percentage. The Lady Bisons had nine attack errors in the first set but only one in the rest of the match.

Each team had five blocks in the match.

Harding held Arkansas-Pine Bluff to hitting .030 in the match with 18 attack errors.

INDIVIDUAL STATS

Harding was led by senior outside hitter Molly Howard who had 13 kills and hit .370 in the match. Freshman middle blocker Zoe Hardin had eight kills and four blocks.

Junior setter Abigail Glosup had 31 assists for Harding and nine digs. Junior defensive specialist Anna Leigh Cargile led the defense with 11 digs.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff was led by Lauren Corby and Natalie Gibbs who each had six kills. Courtney Brand led the Lady Lions defense with 15 digs.
